Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Command Line Interface (OCI CLI):

* Is a small footprint command line tool
* Can be used on its own or with the OCI Console
* Provides the same core functionality as OCI Console, plus additional commands
* Extends the OCI Console’s Functionality
* Provides functionality and command help based on service’s APIs

To install and use OCI CLI, you must have:

* An Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) account
* OCI IAM user credentials with required permissions (User, Password, Tenant, and Compartment)
* RSA key pair and its fingerprint used for signing API requests

Python-based command line interface which is named oci-cli:

* It is built on Python
* It runs on Mac, Windows, or Linux
* Public API key is used to connect the CLI tool with OCI Cloud Console
* Python code makes REST calls to OCI APIs
* It uses HTTPS requests and responses

* Enables automation via scripting
* Can reduce repetitive tasks for administrators
* Can manage Cloud workload at scale
* Capable of performing almost any task that can be executed in the OCI UI
